What Makes Mount Tambora Special
The Big Burp
In 1815, Mount Tambora had its biggest burp ever, so big that it changed the weather around the world. It made the year after that, called "the year without a summer," very cold and gloomy in some places. People couldn’t grow crops well because of it.
Even though it’s been quiet for a while now, Mount Tambora still reminds us how powerful nature can be, just like a giant, sleepy monster who wakes up and shakes the world!
