Who is Karl Marx?

Karl Marx was a thinker who helped explain how money and work can affect people's lives.

Imagine you're playing with blocks in your room. You build a tower by yourself, and it’s yours, that’s like being rich or powerful. But if someone else takes all the blocks from you and keeps them for themselves, that’s not fair. That’s what Karl Marx saw happening in real life, but instead of blocks, people were using money and jobs.

How Karl Marx Saw the World

Karl Marx thought that some people owned everything, like a giant toy box full of all the best toys, while others had to work hard just to get a few pieces. He called these rich people capitalists, and he believed they kept most of the fun (or money) for themselves.

He also believed that if people worked together, they could change things, kind of like how you can build an even bigger tower with your friends! That idea is what makes his thinking still important today.
