Joseph Goebbels was a very important person who helped make people believe things that weren’t true.
He was like a super clever storyteller, but instead of telling stories in books or on the radio, he used big loudspeakers and TV screens to tell stories to everyone in Germany. His job was to get people excited about one idea and to make them forget or dislike other ideas, especially if they were from different countries.
How He Worked
Imagine you have a favorite toy that makes you happy every day. Now imagine someone tells you your toy is broken, and they give you a new toy instead. That might make you like the new toy more than the old one. Joseph Goebbels was like that person, he made people believe things were bad or good just by telling them stories over and over again.
He also used funny pictures, loud music, and big speeches to help everyone feel proud of their country and angry at others. It was a bit like playing a game where you try to trick your friends into thinking something is real when it’s not.
