Who is International Women's Day?

International Women’s Day is a special day when we celebrate and cheer for women all around the world.

Imagine your school has a big party every year on March 8th, that’s like International Women’s Day! On this day, people give flowers, cards, and hugs to women they love or respect. It's a way to say thank you and you're amazing! just like how your teacher might give you a sticker for doing a great job.

Just like how you have different jobs in the school, some kids clean up, others play games, some teach, women also have many kinds of jobs. Some are doctors, some are chefs, and some are even presidents! International Women’s Day helps everyone remember that women make the world a more fun and interesting place.

Long ago, people didn’t always treat women fairly. But just like how you learn new games over time, we’ve learned to be kinder and fairer to women, and this special day is part of that learning journey!
