Who is Indian Plate?

The Indian Plate is like a giant puzzle piece that moves around on Earth’s surface.

Imagine Earth's crust is like a big floor made of tiles, but these tiles are huge and can move. The Indian Plate is one of those big tiles, and it's sitting under parts of India, Pakistan, and even some places in the ocean.

Think about when you're playing with a floor puzzle. Each piece fits together to make a whole picture. But if you push one piece, like the Indian Plate, it can move and bump into other pieces. This movement is what causes earthquakes and mountains to form, just like when two puzzle pieces press together and create a big hill.

The Indian Plate moves slowly, about 5 centimeters every year! That’s like a snail taking its time on a long walk. But even though it's slow, over millions of years, it has traveled from where it started all the way to where it is now.
