Election Day is the special day when people choose who will be their leader.
Imagine you and your friends are picking a class president, that’s like an election. On Election Day, everyone gets to vote for the person they think would do the best job. Just like how you might use your hand to pick your favorite snack at lunch, people use special papers called ballots to pick their favorite leader.
How it Works
On Election Day, people go to a place where they can cast their votes, just like how you line up for pizza on a rainy day. They put their ballot in a box, and that’s it! All the votes are counted later to see who won.
Sometimes, there are many people voting, so the counting takes time, just like when your teacher counts how many kids picked vanilla ice cream versus chocolate.
After the counting is done, the person with the most votes becomes the leader, and they help make decisions for everyone. That’s why Election Day is so important, it gives everyone a chance to have their say!
