Who is Drug Discovery?

Drug discovery is like finding the perfect puzzle piece to help someone feel better.

Imagine you have a friend who feels really sad and tired all the time. You want to find something that will make them happy again, like a special treat or a superpower boost. That’s what drug discovery is: it's the process of finding the best medicine to help people get well.

Think of diseases as broken Lego towers. Scientists are like clever builders who try different Legos (which are like drugs) to see which one fixes the tower fastest and best. They test many pieces, sometimes even making new ones, until they find the perfect fit.

Let’s say your friend has a cold. Scientists might look at all kinds of remedies, like honey, medicine, or even steam from a hot shower, to see what helps the body fight off the germs causing the cold. They try many things until they find the best one.
