Who is Dionysius Exiguus?

Dionysius Exiguus was a clever man who helped make time easier to understand.

Imagine you have a huge calendar that covers 500 years, and it’s all jumbled up, like your toys are all mixed in one big pile. Dionysius wanted to sort this out, so he came up with the idea of counting years from a special day: December 25th, which we now call "Year 1." This is how our modern way of numbering years began!

A Time-Keeping Hero

Dionysius was also good at math and numbers. He helped people figure out dates more easily, like solving a puzzle to know when Easter happens each year.

Think of him as the “time cop” who tidied up the calendar so we don’t get confused about how old things are, or how many birthdays you have left until you’re 100!
