Cultural influence is when people’s favorite things and ways of doing stuff come from other people or places they’ve never met before.
Imagine you have a toy that makes beep-beep sounds, and it's your favorite. One day, your friend gets the same toy, and now you both beep-beep together. That’s like cultural influence, when things you love start showing up in other people’s lives, even if they’re far away.
How It Works
Think of a big group of kids who all wear blue shirts every day. Then another group of kids, from a different school, starts wearing blue shirts too. They didn’t know each other, but now they have something in common, that’s cultural influence at work!
Sometimes it's like when you hear a song on the radio and start singing along, and then your friend hears the same song and sings with you. Pretty soon, everyone knows that song.
Why It Matters
It helps people feel connected even if they're not in the same room. Like how you might wear the same kind of shoes as someone else, just because it feels fun, or cool!
