Building Design is when people figure out how to make buildings look good and work well for the people who use them.
Imagine you're building a treehouse in your backyard, that’s like what building designers do, but on a much bigger scale. They think about where the building will be, how big it needs to be, and what it should look like. Just like you pick strong branches for your treehouse so it doesn’t fall apart, they choose materials and shapes that make buildings strong and pretty.
What Do Building Designers Use?
Building designers use tools like rulers, computers, and paper, just like you might use crayons to draw a picture of your dream house. Sometimes they work with other people, like architects or engineers, who help them bring their ideas to life.
They also think about how people will move around in the building. For example, if it’s a school, they make sure there are enough doors and hallways so kids can get from one class to another without running into each other, just like you plan out the best path to grab your snack during recess!
