Who is Battle of the Bulge?

The Battle of the Bulge was a big surprise attack during World War II that changed things on the front lines.

Imagine you're playing a game of hide and seek with your friends, but instead of just hiding, they all jump out at once and start chasing you. That’s kind of what happened in the Battle of the Bulge, it was like a big surprise from the enemy that caught everyone off guard.

At first, everything looked like the war was going to end soon. But then, one cold winter day, the German army, who were supposed to be tired and low on supplies, suddenly attacked with lots of soldiers and tanks, it was like they had gotten help from somewhere!

This big attack created a bulge in the front line map, like when you push your finger into playdough and make a lump. That's where the name came from.

Even though the Battle of the Bulge was a surprise, it didn’t win the war for Germany, but it did make things harder for the other side. It showed that even when you're tired, a clever plan can still change everything!
