Who is Arctic Circle?

Arctic Circle is like a special club for places near the top of Earth that get super sunny in summer and super sleepy in winter.

Imagine you have a toy globe, the round Earth we play with. The Arctic Circle is like a belt around the very top part of this globe. Only places inside this belt are in the Arctic Circle club.

In summer, the sun stays up for a really long time, sometimes even 24 hours! It’s like having a never-ending playdate with the sun. But in winter, it gets so dark that the sun might not come out at all for weeks. It feels like being in a deep sleep during the night.

Places near the Arctic Circle have very cold winters and warm summers, which makes them special. They also get to see the Northern Lights, which are like dancing lights in the sky, kind of like when you shake a bag of colorful confetti up high!
