Who is Age of Exploration?

The Age of Exploration was when brave people from Europe went on big adventures to discover new lands and make friends (and sometimes enemies) all over the world.

Imagine you're playing with your toys, and suddenly a new toy appears in the room. That's kind of what happened during the Age of Exploration, only instead of toys, it was new countries and new peoples.

Like a Big Treasure Hunt

Think of it like a treasure hunt, but on boats! People used big ships to sail across oceans, looking for new places to explore. They wanted gold, spices, and sometimes just a little bit of fun. Some people even got lost at sea, that’s like being stuck in the middle of a really big puzzle.

Making New Friends (and Sometimes Foes)

When they arrived at these new lands, they met other people who had been there all along. Sometimes they shared stories and food, like having a picnic with strangers. Other times, they didn’t get along very well, and that led to some exciting (but sometimes tricky) adventures.

It was like making new friends in another classroom, you might not know what to expect, but it's always fun to find out!
