Who Invented the Internet? And Why?

The Internet is like a giant playground where computers can talk to each other from anywhere in the world.

Imagine you and your friend are playing with blocks in separate rooms. You want to share your building ideas, but there's no phone or tablet, just paper and pencil. That’s kind of what it was like before the Internet came along.

The Internet wasn’t invented by one person. It was built over time by many smart people who wanted computers to talk to each other, just like you and your friend can share ideas through paper.

One of the most important helpers was a man named Vint Cerf, who is sometimes called the “Father of the Internet.” He helped create something called TCP/IP, it's like the special rules that let computers understand each other’s messages.

Another helper was Bob Kahn, who worked with Vint to make sure computers could send and receive messages no matter where they were. Together, they made a big step toward today’s Internet, which helps us chat, play games, watch videos, all from our phones or tablets!
