People move from one place to another because they’re looking for better lives, like when you trade your old toy for a new, cooler one.

Imagine you live in a small town where there are only a few stores and no big parks. One day, you hear about a city full of playgrounds, ice cream shops, and lots of friends, that sounds way more fun! So, you decide to move there. That’s what happens when people migrate.

Sometimes people move because they need to find work. It's like when your mom goes to a new job in another town, maybe you go with her so you can play with new friends and have more snacks!

Other times, people move because of something bad happening at home. Maybe there’s a big storm or not enough food, it’s like if your house got flooded, and you had to find a new place to live.

People often move from rural areas (like the countryside) to urban areas (big cities). It's like going from a quiet farm where you can hear the chickens cluck to a busy city with lots of lights and sounds.

Sometimes, people also move across countries, that’s called international migration. It's like taking a really long trip on an airplane to live in a new country!
