Castles were like super strong homes that knights and kings lived in during medieval times.
Imagine you have the best toy house ever, it’s super tough, with thick walls and a roof that can’t be knocked off easily. That's kind of what a castle was like for important people. They used castles to stay safe from enemies who wanted to steal their stuff or take over their land. It was like having a big shield around your house.
Why Castles Were Like Forts
Castles also had towers and walls, which helped soldiers see far away and fight off attacks. Sometimes, people would climb up really high towers to look out for enemies coming in the night, it’s like being a spy on top of your toy castle!
Also, castles were used as command centers. The king or knight inside could give orders from there, telling soldiers what to do and where to go.
So, castles weren’t just fancy houses, they were strong forts, safe homes, and smart bases all in one!
