What was space travel like before?

Before, space travel was like going on a really long bike ride, but you had to pedal super hard and hope you didn’t fall off.

Like Riding a Bike Without Training Wheels

Back then, people used rockets that were more like firework launchers. They made whoosh sounds and went up really fast, but they often came back down in pieces or missed their target entirely, like throwing a ball and not knowing where it will land.

It Was Like Going on a Trip with No Map

People didn’t know much about space, so each trip was like going somewhere new without a map. Sometimes the rocket worked great and brought astronauts to the moon, like landing in a big, empty playground. Other times, things went wrong, and the astronauts had to come home quickly, just like when you have to run back from the park because it starts raining.

But even with all those ups and downs, people kept trying, just like how you keep trying to ride your bike until you get the hang of it! Before, space travel was like going on a really long bike ride, but you had to pedal super hard and hope you didn’t fall off.
