What's the Difference Between Art & Design?

Art and design are both about making things look cool, but they have different goals.

Imagine you're playing with building blocks. Art is like when you build a tower just because it looks pretty, maybe it wobbles, but that’s okay! You’re showing how creative you are. It's more about feeling and expression.

Design, on the other hand, is like when you build a house for your toy animals, you make sure the door fits, the roof doesn’t fall off, and everyone can live comfortably inside. Design is all about making things useful and easy to use.

Art is Like Drawing with Crayons

When you draw a rainbow just because you love colors, that's art. It might not look like anything real, it’s about how you feel when you make it.

Design is Like Making a Toy Box

When you arrange your toys so they all fit neatly and you can find what you want quickly, that’s design. You’re making something practical and organized.

Both art and design are awesome, one makes things look beautiful, the other makes things work well!
