Your head is protected by something you wear every day, your helmet, called a skull.
What is a skull?
Think of your skull like a hard hat that firefighters or construction workers wear. It’s made of strong, bumpy pieces that fit together like puzzle pieces. This hard covering helps keep the soft parts inside your head, like your brain, safe from bumps and knocks.
How does it work?
When you run into something, like a wall or a toy, your skull acts like a shield. It takes most of the hit so your brain doesn’t get hurt. Sometimes, if the bump is really big, you might feel a little dizzy, that’s just your brain saying, “Whoa, that was a surprise!”
Your skull is always working hard to keep your head safe, and it never gets tired, unlike you after a long day of playing! Your head is protected by something you wear every day, your helmet, called a skull.
