Some countries are rich because they have more things to trade, and people work together better. Imagine a country with lots of gold and friendly neighbors, that’s easier to be rich. But if a country has no gold and everyone is fighting, it might be poor.
Examples
- A child in a rich country goes to school, learns new things, and gets good jobs when they grow up. A child in a poor country may not have enough food or even a place to study.
- Rich countries can buy things from other places because they have more money. Poor countries might struggle just to get the basics like water and electricity.
- A rich country has factories that make cars, phones, and computers. A poor country might only grow crops, which is harder to sell for big profits.
