A sunset feels special because it’s like the sky is painting a picture every day.
Imagine you have a big bowl full of water, that’s like the sky. Now, think about putting in different colors of food coloring: red, orange, and yellow. At first, everything looks clear, but as you mix them together slowly, cool patterns appear, just like when the sun starts to go down.
Why It Changes Color
During the day, the sunlight travels straight through the sky. But when the sun is low, like in the evening, it has to travel farther. This means the light passes through more of the air, and some colors get scattered, kind of like how a sieve separates different sizes of beans.
Red and orange colors stay behind, so they're the ones we see, that’s why the sky turns red or orange.
Why It Feels Special
At night, it gets dark. But during sunset, there's still light, just not as bright. It feels like the sky is giving us a warm hug before going to sleep. That’s what makes it feel special and peaceful, like when you finish playing with your toys and get ready for bed.
