What it would have been like to experience the dinosaur killing asteroid armageddon?

It was like being hit by a giant truck while standing in a thunderstorm.

Imagine you're outside on a sunny day, and all of a sudden, something huge, like a mountain, crashes into the sky right above your head. That’s what it felt like when the dinosaur-killing asteroid hit Earth. It was so big and fast that it made a massive explosion, brighter than the sun.

Right after the hit, everything shook really hard, like the ground was dancing under your feet. Then came the super hot wind from the explosion, which could burn anything in its path. Soon after, the sky turned dark because of all the dust and smoke floating up from the crash.

Then it started raining, but not regular rain. It was big rocks falling from the sky, like a really messy snowstorm, only with rocks instead of snowflakes. That’s what made everything so wild and crazy for the dinosaurs!
