You're all stretched out like pieces of playdough that got pulled really far apart.
Stretching is when something gets longer and thinner because you pull it from both ends. Imagine you have a piece of playdough, and you grab each end with your hands. If you pull them away from each other, the playdough becomes longer and flatter, that’s stretching!
What does "stretched out" look like?
Think about a rubber band. When it's not being used, it's short and tight. But when you put it around something, like your wrist or a package, you're pulling it from both sides. The rubber band gets longer, that’s how it gets stretched out.
Why does stretching happen?
Examples
- A child stretches after sitting too long at the dinner table.
- An office worker feels stiff and reaches for a stretch break.
- A dancer stretches before a performance.
