Western is a type of movie that tells stories about cowboys, ranches, and big open spaces.
What It Looks Like
Imagine you're playing with toy horses and pretend you’re riding through the desert on a sunny day. That’s what western movies feel like, they have lots of action, like gunfights and horse chases, and often take place in places that look very different from where you live, like big deserts or old towns.
What Makes It Special
A lot of western stories are about heroes and villains. The hero is usually a cowboy who tries to do the right thing, maybe he saves a town or fights off bad guys. The villain might be a bad guy with a hat that hides his face, like in some of your favorite video games.
Sometimes there’s even a big showdown where everyone stops what they're doing and faces off in the middle of a street, it's like when you and your friend have a final battle in your toy box.
