What is waste?

Waste is stuff we don’t need anymore, and it doesn’t have to be fancy, sometimes it’s just a crumpled paper or a half-eaten cookie.

Imagine you're playing with your favorite toy, and then you decide to switch to another one. The first toy isn't broken, it's just not needed right now. That’s like waste, it's still good, but we’re moving on.

What Makes Something Waste?

Sometimes, waste is something that can’t be used again at all. Like when you finish your juice box and throw the empty container away. It was full of something good, but now it’s just a cup with nothing inside, empty and useless for now.

Other times, waste can be reused or turned into something new! Think about the paper you crumpled up, if someone else uses it to make a ball, that’s not waste anymore. It's like a superhero changing costumes!

So, waste is just things we don’t need now, but they might still have a chance to be useful later on. Waste is stuff we don’t need anymore, and it doesn’t have to be fancy, sometimes it’s just a crumpled paper or a half-eaten cookie.
