Waste management is how we take care of all the things we throw away so they don’t just pile up everywhere.
Imagine you have a big toy box, and every day you put your used toys in it. If you never took them out, the box would get full and messy. That’s like waste, all the stuff we use and then leave behind. Waste management is like having a helper who comes to clean out the toy box so it stays neat.
How It Works
- You throw your toys (or trash) into a bin.
- A truck picks them up and takes them to a special place, like a big playroom for all the old toys.
- Sometimes they get sorted, some go to be used again, others might end up in a different room or even outside.
Why It Matters
If we don’t manage our waste, it can make our neighborhood look messy, just like if your toy box was left open and full of toys everywhere. Managing waste helps keep everything clean and ready for new fun!
Examples
- A family separates their trash into paper, plastic, and food scraps to help the recycling center.
- A city collects trash from homes every week and sends it to a landfill.
- People in a neighborhood start composting to turn food waste into garden soil.
