"Wait" means to stay still until something happens.
Imagine you're playing a game where you have to wait for your turn. You can't run or jump, you just stand there, like a statue, until it's your time to move.
Like Waiting in Line
When you go to the store with your mom and dad, sometimes you have to wait in line. That means you stay behind other people until it’s your turn to pay. You might count how many people are ahead of you, 1, 2, 3…, while you wait.
Like Waiting for a Friend
If you're waiting for your best friend at the park, you wait until they arrive. You might sit on a bench, swing on a swing, or even play with a toy until they come running toward you.
Waiting is just staying in one place until something exciting happens, like getting to go first in a game or seeing your favorite person!
