A wage is the money you get for working hard at a job.
Imagine you have a lemonade stand. Every time someone buys a cup of lemonade, that’s like earning a little bit of money. Now, if your neighbor helps you run the stand and they get 10 coins every hour they work, that 10 coins is their wage, it's what they earn for helping out.
How Wages Work
When you go to a job, like being a helper at a bakery or playing games at a store, your boss agrees on how much money you’ll get each hour. That amount is your wage.
If you work 5 hours and your wage is 8 coins per hour, you earn 40 coins in total, just like getting extra stickers for doing a great job!
Wages Are Fair
Sometimes, if you do more or work harder, you might get more money. That’s like when you clean up all the toys and get an extra cookie, it's your reward for working well!
