What is voice?

Voice is how we use sound to talk and share ideas with others.

Voice is like a special kind of sound that comes from your lungs, goes up through your throat, and out through your mouth, just like water going through a hose. When you speak, it's like giving the sound a fun shape so people can understand what you're saying.

How Your Voice Works

Imagine you have a balloon full of air inside your body. When you talk, you blow that air up through your throat and out your mouth, kind of like blowing bubbles. The way you move your tongue, lips, and jaw changes how the sound comes out, just like changing the shape of a bubble makes it look different.

Why Your Voice Matters

Your voice is what helps others know what you're thinking or feeling. If you're happy, your voice might go up high, like when you sing. If you're tired, it might be quieter and slower, like a sleepy cat purring. Everyone’s voice sounds a little different because of how their body shapes the sound.
