What is viral?

Viral means something spreads really fast, like when everyone starts doing the same thing at once.

Imagine you and your friends are playing a game in the playground. One of you sees a funny video on your phone and shows it to another friend. That friend laughs, then shows it to someone else. Pretty soon, everyone is laughing and watching that video, even people who weren’t playing the game at first! That’s like viral, something starts with just one or two people, but then it quickly spreads to many others.

It’s like when you drop a pebble into a pond. At first, only a little ripple happens. But soon, the whole pond is moving, big waves and everything! That's how viral feels: small beginnings become huge, fast.

Sometimes people see something so funny or cool that they just have to share it with others. Like when you get a really good laugh, you can’t help but tell someone else about it! And then those people tell their friends too. That’s how viral works: one person starts it, and soon everyone is in on the fun.
