What is videos?

A video is like a storybook that comes to life and moves on the screen.

Imagine you have a toy car that zooms around your room. Now imagine you could see every little twist and turn it makes, not just once, but over and over again, as if it were dancing in front of you. That’s what a video is: a bunch of pictures (called frames) playing one after another so fast that they look like motion.

How Videos Work

Think about a flipbook. When you flip the pages quickly, you see a picture move, that’s how videos work, but with many more pictures. A video is made up of many tiny still images, and when they play in order really fast (like 24 or 30 times every second), your eyes trick you into seeing smooth motion.

Why We Love Videos

Videos are like a special kind of movie that you can watch on your phone, tablet, or TV. They let you see real people doing things, like singing, dancing, or even eating ice cream! You might have seen videos of your friend riding a bike or your pet chasing a ball. Those are all videos, and they're fun to watch because they make you feel like you’re right there with them.
