What is vaccination?

Vaccination is like giving your body a practice fight so it gets ready for real battles.

Imagine you're playing hide and seek, and you want to be super fast at finding people. So, before the game starts, you do some quick exercises, like jumping jacks or running around the block. That helps you get stronger and faster. Vaccination is kind of like that quick exercise for your body.

How It Works

When you get a vaccine, it's like giving your body a tiny bit of a pretend germ. This pretend germ isn’t strong enough to make you sick, but it helps your body learn how to fight real germs. Your body then makes special soldiers called antibodies that remember how to beat the germ.

Next time the real germ comes around, like when you get sick, your body is already ready! It knows what to do and can beat the germ faster, so you don’t feel as bad or might not get sick at all.
