What is use?

"Use is when you do something with a thing because it helps you."

Imagine you have a toy car. You push it, and it rolls across the floor. That’s use, you’re using the toy car to have fun, just like you use your legs to walk.

What makes something useful?

A useful thing is one that does something helpful for you. Like a spoon, you use it to eat ice cream because it helps you get the ice cream from the bowl to your mouth. If the spoon was made of rock, it wouldn’t be very useful. But if it’s made of smooth plastic or metal, it's perfect!

Use is all around you

You use your hands to hold things, your eyes to see, and your feet to run. Even your bed is something you use, when you're tired, you lie down on it so you can sleep better.

Use isn’t just for big things, even small ones like a crayon, a book, or a door are used every day in fun and helpful ways.
