Upright means standing straight and not leaning or falling over.
Imagine you're like a tree, when it's growing strong in the middle of a field, it stands upright, just like you stand up tall when you're proud. But if the wind blows really hard and knocks it sideways, it's no longer upright, it’s leaning!
Now think about your favorite robot toy. When it's standing on its two legs, it’s upright. But if it trips over a toy car or gets bumped by your brother, it might fall down, that means it’s not upright anymore.
Sometimes things can be upright in different ways. A chair can be upright when you sit on it, and a ladder is upright when it's standing against the wall.
So remember: upright means being straight and steady, just like your favorite tree or robot!
