What is tropics?

The tropics are like a warm hug from the sun all year round.

Imagine you're playing outside on a super sunny day, that’s how it feels in the tropics, but instead of just one day, it's like that every single day. The tropics are the areas around the middle of the Earth, near the equator, where it’s usually hot and there are lots of trees, beaches, and animals.

Like a Sun-Soaked Playground

Think of the Earth as a big round ball. If you put a line halfway up the ball, that's the equator. The tropics are like a band around the middle of this ball. This is where the sun shines down almost straight, making it really warm all year long.

In places like the tropics, there are no cold winters, just warm days and sometimes rainstorms that feel like giant sprinklers in the sky. It's perfect for growing bananas, coconuts, and other fruits you can eat without needing a coat!
