How It Works
A traffic light has three colors: red, yellow, and green. Each color means something:
- Red means stop, just like when your mom says "Time for bed!", you have to pause and wait.
- Yellow is like a gentle reminder that the light is about to change, so it's time to get ready to move.
- Green means go! It’s like when you’re allowed to play outside after finishing your homework.
Why We Need Traffic Lights
Imagine if all cars just drove whenever they wanted, it would be like a huge game of tag with no rules! Traffic lights help keep everything calm and orderly. They let people know when it's safe to cross the street or drive through an intersection, so everyone can get where they're going without crashing into each other.
Sometimes you have to wait for a while, but that’s just like waiting in line for ice cream. It might take longer, but it’ll be worth it!
Examples
- A red light stops the car, a green light lets it go
- The light changes from red to green for pedestrians to cross safely
- Traffic lights help people know when to walk or drive
