What is trade?

Trade is when people or places exchange things they have for things they want.

Imagine you and your friend both have toys, but you like each other's toy better. So you decide to swap them. That’s trade!

Like a Toy Swap Party

When you trade, it’s kind of like having a toy swap party with everyone in the neighborhood. Some people might bring cookies to trade for stickers, or pencils for erasers. Everyone ends up with something they really like, and no one has to keep the same old toy forever.

Trade Around the World

Now imagine this: you live in a town where most kids love chocolate, but not many have it. Another town has lots of chocolate but doesn’t have much candy. So the towns trade, one sends chocolate, the other sends candy. That way, everyone gets what they want!

Trade happens everywhere, from your classroom to faraway countries, and it helps people get what they need or want, just like a big, friendly swap party!
