The Roman Empire was like a huge, powerful family that ruled many lands all over Europe and parts of Asia and Africa.
Imagine you have the biggest toy box in the world, it has everything from tiny blocks to big cars and even a castle. The Roman Empire was kind of like that toy box, but instead of toys, it had cities, roads, and people all working together.
Like a Big Playground
The Romans were like the bosses of this huge playground. They built roads so people could travel easily from one city to another, just like how you can walk from your house to the park.
They also had soldiers who protected their lands, like having a team of friends who help you win at games.
A Long Lasting Game
This big family didn’t last forever. At first, it was ruled by one person, like a king, but later, it had many rulers and even changed how people lived. But for a long time, the Roman Empire was like the most popular kid on the block, strong, smart, and always ready to play.
Eventually, this big family grew too large and had to split into two parts, one in the East and one in the West, but that’s another story!
