What is cat?

A cat is a friendly animal that likes to play, sleep, and sometimes chase things like toys or shadows.

Cats have soft fur, sharp claws, and big eyes that let them see in the dark. They are about the size of a small chair, and they walk on four legs, just like you do, but with paws instead of hands and feet.

Cats love to nap in sunny spots, like on a windowsill or a cozy bed. They also like to catch things, sometimes real mice, sometimes just your sock if it happens to be near them. When they are happy, they purr, which sounds like a soft engine running inside their chest.

You might see a cat jumping from one place to another, or maybe even knocking over a cup. That’s just how they play!
