What is tax?

Tax is like sharing your favorite snack with friends so everyone can enjoy it.

Imagine you have a big bag of candy, and after school, you and your friends all want to eat some. Instead of keeping the whole bag for yourself, you give a little bit to each friend, that’s tax. It's something you give away so others can also benefit, like how a city uses money from taxes to build parks or schools.

How Tax Works

When you earn money, like from doing chores or selling lemonade, the government takes a small part of it, this is called paying tax. The money they take helps pay for things like roads, fire trucks, and libraries. It's like leaving some candies in the bag so your friends can also have snacks later.

Why We Pay Tax

Even though you're giving away some candy now, it helps make life better for everyone, just like how a well-maintained park makes playing more fun for all kids. So, tax is a fair way to share what we have and build a better place for everyone to live in.
