What is tax | Taxation explained?

Tax is when people and businesses give some of their money to the government so it can help take care of everyone.

What Tax Does

Imagine you're sharing candy with your friends at school. You have a big bag of candy, but you also want to make sure there's enough for everyone, even those who didn’t bring any. So you give some of your candy to the teacher, that’s like tax. The teacher uses it to buy more candy for all the kids.

Who Pays Tax

When you grow up and get a job, you might have to pay tax too. Let's say you earn $10 from mowing lawns. Your government takes a little bit of that money, maybe $2, so they can build parks, schools, or roads for everyone to use. That’s fair because even if you don’t need the park now, someone else might, and it helps all of you later.

Why Tax Is Important

Tax is like sharing your snacks with friends, it makes sure everyone has what they need, even when things are busy or not so fun.
