What is synthesis?

Synthesis is when you put together different pieces to make something new.

Imagine you have a box of building blocks, some are red, some are blue, and some are green. Each block is like a piece or part of something bigger. When you stack them together in a special way, you might build a tower, a bridge, or even a house. That’s synthesis, taking the individual pieces and combining them into a new creation.

Like Mixing Colors

Think about painting. If you have two colors, say, yellow and blue, and you mix them together, you get green. You started with two different colors, but by mixing them (synthesizing them), you made something entirely new!

It’s Everywhere

Synthesis isn’t just for building blocks or paint. When you put together a puzzle, when you make a sandwich with bread, cheese, and ham, that’s synthesis too! You’re taking parts and making something bigger and better.

So next time you build something or mix colors, remember: you're doing synthesis, the art of putting things together to create something new.
