What is Sweden?

Sweden is like a big, friendly neighborhood that lives in the northern part of Europe.

Imagine you have a cozy house with lots of windows so you can see the sun even when it's wintertime, that’s kind of what Sweden feels like! It has forests, lakes, and sometimes even snow for months at a time, but also coasts where the sea meets the land.

Like a Big Family

Sweden is made up of many people who live in towns and cities, just like how you have classmates in school or friends on the playground. These people speak Swedish, which is their special way of talking to each other. They also enjoy things like saunas (a hot room where they relax), fika (which means having coffee and cake with friends), and sometimes even dancing in the snow!

A Place That Changes

Sweden has seasons that are like different days of the year, in summer, it’s warm and bright, and in winter, it can be cold and quiet. Some parts of Sweden get so much sunlight in summer that people say it feels like never-ending daylight!

So, Sweden is a country full of friendly neighbors, beautiful nature, and fun traditions, all in one big, cozy place!
