What is surprise?

Surprise is when something happens that you didn’t expect, and it makes you feel curious or excited.

Imagine you’re playing with your favorite toy, maybe a red ball that bounces really high. You throw it up, and it comes back down just like always. But then, poof!, instead of the ball, there’s a soft, green frog hopping around! That’s surprise, something unexpected happened, and it made you go “Wow!”

What Makes Something Surprising?

Surprise happens when things change in a way that catches your attention. You know what to expect most of the time, like when your mom brings you breakfast every morning. But sometimes, she might bring pancakes one day, waffles the next, or even a new kind of cereal! That change is surprising, and it makes your day more fun.

Surprise doesn’t have to be big, even small changes can make you happy or curious. Like when your favorite snack appears in your lunchbox on a day you didn’t think it would be there!

So next time something unexpected happens, remember: that’s just surprise, and it's one of the things that makes life exciting!
