Superstition is when people believe that certain things happen because of special actions or objects, even if they don’t really know why.
Like a Special Rule in a Game
Imagine you have a favorite toy, and every time you play with it before bedtime, you win at your favorite game. You might think the toy helps you win. That’s superstition, believing something happens because of a special action or object.
Sometimes It's Just a Habit
Sometimes people do the same thing over and over again, just in case it works. Like when your mom always puts on her lucky socks before going to work, even though she doesn’t know why. She believes they help her have a good day, that’s superstition too!
Superstitions are like invisible helpers that people think make things go better, even if no one can see them or feel them working.
Examples
