Summer occurs at the same time in opposite parts of the world because one half is tilted toward the Sun while the other is tilted away.
Imagine Earth is like a spinning top that’s also tilted on its side. When you spin it, one side gets more sunlight, that's summer! The other side gets less sunlight, that's winter. So when it's summer in your part of the world, it's winter in the place that's on the opposite side of Earth.
Like Two Sides of a Room
Think about being in a big room with a bright light shining from one corner. If you're near the light, you feel warm, like summer. But if someone is on the other side of the room, far from the light, they’re feeling cool, like winter. Even though both of you are in the same room, you experience different things at the same time.
So Earth’s tilt makes it so that while one half enjoys long days and warm weather (summer), the other half has short days and cold weather (winter), all happening at once!
