What is strike?

Strike is when you hit something hard and fast to make it move or change shape.

Imagine you're playing with a hammer and some nails. When you swing your hammer down on the nail, that's a strike, it makes the nail go into the wood.

Like a Bounce in a Game

Think about bouncing a ball. If you hit the ball really hard with your foot, that’s like a strike. It sends the ball flying far away. The harder and faster you hit it (the stronger your strike), the farther the ball goes.

Strike in Real Life

When you're cooking and you smash an egg on a plate, that's also a strike! You’re hitting the shell with your hand or a spoon to make it crack open.

Strike is just like giving something a big, fast push, and it helps you do things like build houses, play games, and even cook eggs!
