What is Strategically?

Strategically means thinking ahead and planning how to win or do something well, like when you play a game.

Imagine you're playing checkers, and you want to take the biggest piece on the board. Instead of just jumping right in, you think: Where should I move first so that I can get there later? That’s being strategic, thinking about what happens next so you can win.

Like a Puzzle

When you solve a puzzle, you don’t just put pieces anywhere. You look at the picture and say, “This piece fits here because it has this color and shape.” Then you check if that helps you finish more of the picture later. That’s being strategic too, seeing how each move helps with what comes next.

Like a Race

If you're racing your friend to the park, and you know there's a shortcut through the back alley, you might take it so you can get there faster. That's being strategic, using what you know to help you win.

So when you think ahead and pick the best way to do something, that’s being strategic, just like in games, puzzles, or races!
