What is Star’s life cycle?

A star is born, lives, and eventually dies, just like you!

How a Star is Born

Stars are like big balls of hot gas that light up the sky. They start as a baby star, which is a cloud of gas called a nebula. This cloud gets squeezed together by gravity, like when you squish a balloon, it gets hotter and brighter until it becomes a newborn star.

What Happens When a Star Dies

A star lives for millions or even billions of years. When it runs out of fuel, it starts to change. A big star might blow up in a big explosion, like a firework, this is called a supernova. A smaller star might shrink down into a tiny ball of light, like a dwarf star, or even become a white dwarf.

Sometimes, stars leave behind cool things like planets, just like how you can make something new from the pieces of a broken toy! A star is born, lives, and eventually dies, just like you!
