What is spellcheck?

Spellcheck is like having a helpful friend who makes sure your words are spelled correctly when you write them down.

Imagine you're writing a story about your favorite toy, maybe a robot. You write "rbot" instead of "robot." Your robot might look confused! That's where spellcheck comes in. It looks at the words you wrote and checks if they match the real spelling. If it sees something that doesn't fit, like "rbot," it will let you know, maybe by underlining it or changing its color.

How Spellcheck Works

Spellcheck is like a detective who knows all the right spellings of words. When you type a word, spellcheck compares it to its list of known words. If it doesn’t match any, it might suggest some similar ones, like "robot" instead of "rbot."

Sometimes, even your detective can be wrong. That's why it’s always good to double-check what you wrote yourself!
